Dose rate in silicon panel
Radiation dose rate measured in the Radiation Assessment Detector (RAD; Hassler et al. 2012) B detector.
B is a 300 µm thick silicon detector. B records energy deposits above energy threshold with a 4π acceptance angle.
The energy deposits are summed up for each observation and converted into units of µGy/day.
Contributions from the Curiosity rover's MMRTG are subtracted.
Dose rate in tissue equivalent plastic panel
Radiation dose measured in the RAD E detector. E is a hydrogen-rich plastic scintillator and records energy deposits above
energy threshold with a 4π acceptance angle. The energy deposits are summed up for each observation and converted into units
of µGy/day.
MMRTG = Multi-mission radioisotope thermoelectric generator
