The Timeline Builder allows you to create custom time series plots by selecting and combining multiple parameters.
When you first open the tool, the timeline starts empty - you'll need to add parameters to begin building your visualization.
Getting Started: The timeline is initially empty. Use the Add Parameter
button to begin adding data parameters to your plot.
The Timeline Builder operates in two distinct time modes:
- Manually select specific start and end times
- Use the arrow buttons ( ) to shift the time range by ±1 day
- Ideal for analyzing specific time periods or events
- Select from preset recent time periods:
- Latest day
- Latest 3 days
- Other predefined periods
- Additional "+ hours" option extends the view into the future
- Automatically updates with new data as it becomes available
Adding Parameters
- Click the Add Parameter button
- Navigate through the parameter tree structure
- Select the desired parameter to add it to your timeline
- Repeat to add multiple parameters as needed
The parameter tree is organized hierarchically, allowing you to browse through different categories
and data sources to find the specific measurements you want to visualize.
Adjusting Parameter Properties
- Click the Parameters button to open the parameter management dialog
- From the list of added parameters, you can modify:
Color: Change the display color for each parameter
Log Mode: Toggle log mode on/off
Display Mode: Choose between line, marker, or both visualization styles
Removing Parameters
- Click the Parameters button to open the parameter management dialog
- Remove individual parameters from the parameters dialog
- Use "Remove All" to clear the entire timeline
Access the Settings button to configure the overall plot appearance:
Plot Layout Modes
- Stack Mode: Check the stack mode checkbox, this displays each parameter on its own y-axis
- Combined Mode: Uncheck the stack mode checkbox, displays all parameters on the same y-axis
Legend Configuration
- Top
- Bottom
- Side
- Off (hide legend)
Data Export and API Access
Downloading Data
- Click the button in the title bar
- The download dialog displays all added parameters
- Click API button to download JSON for parameter
- Expand a parameter to view and copy the API URL
